We are fortunate to have so many living descendants of both the victims and the perpetrator/sheriffs working together on this project. Many Community Remembrance Projects struggle without success to find descendants and when they do, they are often unsuccessful in enlisting them to the public work. There are many reasons for this, and we respect those reasons but deeply honor those who join us and find healing in doing so.
